After many years writing and performing together in several NYC bands, Howie Lam (vocals/guitar) and Bill Kovalcik (drums) joined with guitarist Keith Ehrlich and formed Bastion in the summer of 2002. The following year saw the addition of Frederick Macaraeg (of The Ankles) on bass and Alex Dziena (of Haujobb) on keyboards.
