Bryan Dunn established himself writing addictive songs and putting on energetic live shows while touring the Southwest with his former band, 3 Penny Opera. After a move to New York City he formed Simple Thing and immediately generated a media buzz and sizeable club following at The Village Underground and Luna Lounge. His bands also pack sizable venues at their quasi-annual homecoming shows in Austin, Texas.
Dunn’s songs blend popular influences of Lennon/McCartney, Waites, Prince and Clapton with regional headliners like Dallas, Texas native, DavÍd Garza. From guitar driven pop rock to plaintive tango-esque ballads, his songs are enhanced by compelling melodies and intelligent lyrics. Critics have taken notice of his craft and like what they hear.
