Nick Lowe Hoot Nite and Benefit Show
Hole In The Wall (Austin, TX)
Friday, February 22, 2008
8:00PM - 2:00AM
Featuring:
8:00 Elizabeth McQueen
9:30 The Lowelies
11:00 Eric Hisaw & Ron Flynt
12:30 (or earlier if we're ahead of schedule) Mandible
On Friday Feb 22 at the Hole in the Wall, we're hosting a record-release party that is part of a multi-city affair put on by Yep Roc Records. The occasion is Yep Roc's reissue of Nick's groundbreaking, awesome, and generally kick-ass album, JESUS OF COOL. Came out in 1978 -- that's right, 30 years ago. The show will also feature Elizabeth McQueen, a pub-rock icon in her own right, Eric Hisaw & Ron Flynt, who some of you may remember from our gig at the Continental last year, and Mandible, who didn't want to be left out of this outstanding show. There will be CD giveaways, too. $5 cover at the door goes to Anthropos Arts to support them bringing Austin musicians into low-income public schools to offer free workshops, music lessons, and so on. (Yeah, you may have heard one of us talking about them before.)
See y'all there, friends. With peace, love, & understanding,
The Lowelies
