Help Form “Human Chain of Petitions Around the Cactus Cafe” at UT Student Union
April 20, 2010 - Austin, TX Friends of the Cactus Cafe www.savethecactuscafe.org.
On Wed., April 21st, at 3:15pm, the non-profit group "Friends of the Cactus Cafe" and many UT students and other supporters of the UT Cactus Cafe intend to form a human chain around the UT Austin Cactus Cafe (in front of the University of Texas at Austin Student Union, at 24th/Guadalupe). Get there by 3:15. We plan to have media there to take the photo at 3:30pm sharp!!
This human chain will be made up of thousands and thousands of signatures on petitions that have been signed by individuals supporting the efforts to Save the Cactus Cafe effort.
This effort is to reinforce to UT Officials how important the Cactus Cafe is and that we want to preserve its fundamental character, maintain its current location, and keep it operating under professional management.
We invite everyone to attend this incredible event to witness the nearly 6,000 physical signatures that will make up this human chain to protect this sacred, irreplaceable live music venue.
Everyone is invited! Please join us, Wed., 3:15pm, at the University of Texas at Austin Student Union and help us save this legendary live music venue!
After we form this human chain, we'll then march over to the 4pm Public Forum UT Officials are hosting to hear feedback about the Cactus Cafe. The forum is at 4:00pm at the UT Avaya Auditorium, 24th/Speedway.
