Scorpio Rising Releases New Single “Summer Jam” from Forthcoming EP: “V” (Five)
August 12, 2011 - Austin, Texas In anticipation of their upcoming fifth release, South Austin electronic/rock trio Scorpio Rising has released their new summertime anthem, "Summer Jam." The band's bassist/producer Wonderbred says the song is inspired by Austin's relentless 2011 Austin heatwave, with lyrics referencing the "hot, hot Texas nights."
Tapping into the band's South Austin roots, Wonderbred reunited with rapper The Real Rico Suave to lay down his self-described "Texican" flavored rhymes. The two previously worked on a project called Sabado Por La Noche years ago, but as this song came together Wonderbred felt Rico would make the jam complete.
