Scorpio Rising Releases “Bodyrock It” Video!
January 9, 2009 - Austin, TX On the heels of their 2008 Feels Good CD release, Scorpio Rising has started off strong in '09 with the release of the video to their newest track, "Bodyrock It." The band's previous videos have captured the essence of their hometown's unofficial motto, "Keep Austin Weird." A brief YouTube search reveals a cinematic world of bodypainted demons, cross-dressing businessmen, vintage sci-fi-esque puppeteering, and a cavalcade of South Austin musicians, roadies, and local access TV stars.
"Bodyrock It" opts for a more simple approach. Band members Madame Scorpio (vocals, dance, smoooth vibe), Wonderbred (bass, guitar, programming), and DJ Bixler (drums, laptop PC) get up-close and personal with the camera in this production—a straight-forward pantomime effort that gives a small screen hint of what a larger-scale Scorpio Rising show has in store for its crowds.
