A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Lank Dizzim grew up in the city's Ribault Manor area on the Northwest side. Being mainly influenced by his older brother and the inner city neighborhoods of the 80's and 90's, Hip-Hop quickly became a life altering interest. "I remember my older brother listening to music tapes, and sneaking to listen to gangsta raps and watch music videos" Lank recalls. Influenced by rappers like Chubb Rock, A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, 2pac, Snopp, and DJ Quick, Lank Dizzim began to sharpen his street swag and define the MC he has become. His older brother "Laf" formed a beat production team with a fellow childhood friend "Pro" and Lank "would write raps in middle and high school with my close childhood friend and classmate, 'J.Co'." Soon after high school, the four formed the Hip-Hop Group "The Prolegend Movement," who would go on to record music and videos. "The Prolegend Movement is a super group of two great producers and four great lyricists." Through The Prolegend Movement, Lank Dizzim released his long awaited and highly anticipated mixtape, Hustlemania, which describes as a culmination of all the frustrations of life, which propel you forward to do extraordinary things even if odds are stacked against you.
Laserz is not for the weak-minded person searching for emo-screamo and/or beach style acoustic sounds. It is for people who grew up on Butthole Surfers, Devo, Beck, The Pixies, Modest Mouse, latchkey kids, too much sugar, skateboarding, school behavior problems, and hours of Nintendo per day. Laserz began with two guyz who just wanted to learn how to play their instrumentz and play semi-ok in front of a few people. After going through some band members, experimentation, a 1st album, and a hiatus, Laserz has solidified into a three piece with John Miller on keys, turntables, and vocals, Todd on keys, guitar and vocals, and Mike Frazier as drummer.
What others have said about Laserz:

In 2008 Melissa Lawson won NBC's Nashville Star. Over 5,000,000 viewers tuned in and voted. When Melissa won she was awarded a record contract with a major label. Unfortunately, as the label went through a management shakeup and faced pressure from the new market place, they allowed Melissa to languish for over 9 months only to tell her that they were not going to move forward with the deal. Fame, but NO fortune was the result. Fans waited and waited, but never saw the CD they were hoping to enjoy... As luck would have it though, Melissa was able to develop song writing partnerships with several top writers in Nashville and has been hard at work developing new material to record. Melissa's incredible voice and stage charisma has attracted the attention of a Grammy Award and Dove Award winning producer, as well as that of a veteran Nashville engineer who has worked with many top producing acts. Melissa's incredible story of overcoming marital and financial challenges while raising 6 sons and restoring her marriage has made her a highly sought after booking at women's groups, churches and seminars. We are seeking to put together a new CD of top tier Contemporary Christian and inspirational music to offer Melissa's fan base a brand new updated look at where Melissa's talent has taken her. She's ready to stand for women and families and create a base of music and motivational speeches to take her fans to a new level in their own lives!
Leather Leaf is a new hard rock band from Austin Texas. In just a few short months the band's debut Album will be making noise throughout the independent music world. Leather Leaf's brand of rock is rollicking and raw, fueled by a powerful rhythm section, invigorating guitar riffs and unforgettably melodic vocal hooks. Think of Evanescence meets Motley Crue. The band jumps to life with a grinding pulse that gives way to a straight-forward hard rock tune making Leather Leaf worthy of comparisons to professional rock bands touring the circuit and making the rounds around nation wide live events as well as local venues. Leather Leaf is a force to be dealt with, prepare yourself for the new sound of Leather Leaf!!!
Oxfordshire based singer/songwriter and still only 17, Charlie Leavy's set generally includes an eclectic mix of upbeat pop songs tinged with the odd personal influence of blues, country and folk & maybe the odd original/cover in Korean, Japanese or Spanish. She is aiming for 52 gigs in 2014.
Tom Robinson, of BBC 6 Music, says of Charlie, "Out there in Streaming Land there are naturally gifted singers and then there are the rest of us, and you can tell within seconds that Charlie Leavy belongs effortlessly in the first category. In the coming years she’ll be able to pick pretty much any direction she wants to and, with enough hard work, make a success of it."
Art Lagun, Nightshift, praises, "True to form the first act tonight proves to be the most interesting. Charlie Leavy makes a big impact with just her voice and an acoustic guitar, sounding more California than her native Hook Norton. Relentlessly upbeat, one great song follows another, catchy tunes with straightforward yet personal lyrics like the poignant "Tongue Tied." Only 17, she writes and performs with frank simplicity that comes as a breath of vitalising air, her take on Pixie Lott’s "Mama Do" trouncing the original."
If what passes for country music these days gives you a headache, Brennen Leigh has the remedy.” So wrote the Austin Chronicle in a review of the talented singer-songwriter’s latest album The Box. She mixes the traditional sounds of country and bluegrass effortlessly and with deep admiration, yet manages to remain contemporary with subject matter that is both fascinating and universal.
Born in Fargo, North Dakota, Leigh lived in Moorhead, Minnesota where she began performing with her brother Seth Hulbert. In 2002, she decided to give Austin a try. A dependable mandolin player with a clear, voice, Leigh won over such influential Texas country artists as Dale Watson, who asked her to join him on stage, and Jesse Dayton, who she met at a festival in France. They, in turn, introduced her to a broad range of country music fans and like-minded musicians.
Leigh has self-released 8 CD’s since 1996. She is prolific, driven, and generous. You will often find her assembling other musicians for causes, for her own concert-series “Love. on the Lawn” established in 2003, and for international touring in Italy. For three years in a row, Leigh has been the official emcee at the Houston Women’s Music Festival. Not only does Leigh work hard at promoting her own musical endeavors, but is also a published music critic for Central Texas’ N2 Magazine. Leigh appeals to large demographic around the globe, with whom she stays in close contact via her CD’s, her writings, her mailers and blogs, while also receiving radio play and rave reviews in publications around the world.
While listening to Ginger Leigh’s records or while watching her passionate performance on stage, you hardly realize that much of her music is serious. She comes across with a lightness and ease, lifting you, rather than pulling you down. She is in constant celebration of life’s questions and struggles. Her music is empowering, thus allowing her to be a chameleon in the genre-based world of the music business. You might catch Ginger Leigh performing at a country music festival, a folk festival, a rock or jazz club, making her point about living outside the box and without definitions. This she does with a piercing clarity, power and seduction as irresistible as the blue eyes with which she sings to you from stage.
The LEL Brothas is comprised of two musical geniuses DJ Clone and LBC. Growing up in San Diego running the streets with Hip Hop “Crews” was an everyday occurrence for DJ Clone. He soon gained a reputation as a highly sought after DJ, Lyricist and Dancer. Performing at the hottest nightclubs and venues in California gaining international recognition.
LBC, originally from Long Beach California, was forced to face, at a young age, the hard reality of growing up on the “street.” LBC used that anger and pain to fuel his desire to “rise to greatness” and fulfill his destiny as not only a rapper but also an “entertainer.” LBC is revered, by many, as a “lyrical disease;” consuming everything in his path.
In 2007 DJ Clone and LBC joined forces to become a formidable force in the music industry.

Smooth. Edgy. Soft. Sharp. Electronic. Organic.
All of these qualities come to mind upon hearing Norway's Limbic Void, the musical brainchild of artist/producer Gustav Espenes. Limbic Void's latest release, "Stay Strong" evokes vocal melodies somewhere between Christopher Cross and Dido. The music harkens the Retro New Wave movement, including the likes of Electric Youth and Everything Everything.
But Limbic Void remains all its own. Gustav crafts his unique brand of electro-pop, deftly blending vintage synths with analog beats, creating simultaneously picturesque and melancholic soundscapes.

Local Uprising is an independent band who work hard to make an impact on reggae in their own unique way. Understandably, the band itself exists in the same fashion—its members all bring different genres of music to the group. Local Uprising's latest album Our Welcome To The World is more than a year in the making and drops August 8, 2013. Leading up to and following the band's record release, catch a Local Uprising show for yourself. Contrary to the norm for many bands, Local Uprising shows are not merely performances of their recordings. The band frequently has tricks up their sleeve which make it well worth your time to soak in a Local Uprising show for yourself.

The Lonesome Heroes debut full length Daydream Western has been nominated by The Independent Music Awards for album of the year for 2011. Described by Austin NPR affiliate KUT 90.5 FM as: "Western Americana, a cross-pollination of rock, folk and country with psych and indie pop – influences from their Texas and Brooklyn backgrounds. It’s the soundscape that occurs when indie rock and country artfully cross paths.". Inclusive in sound, the Lonesome Heroes are as comfortable in the West Texas desert as the sandy shores of California. Pigeonholed as Alt Country for too long, Daydream Western represents a maturation of their sound into a highway revelry that crosses state lines and blurs genres seamlessly.
The members of Los #3 Dinners love their town (San Antonio), the places in it and the people that make it special. Los #3 Dinners started out and a group of childhood friends who have a special bond to each other and just wanted to make the kind of music that wasn't there. They became citizen rockers to fill a void. In doing so they discovered a simple rule, "Don't let life live you...live life". So, there you have it: Los #3 Dinners.
We are first and foremost a Conjunto (musical group). The word "Conjunto" is used in Texas for a certain genre of music. But, to the rest of the Spanish-speaking world, Conjunto means a gathering of folks joining together to accomplish certain tasks. With that being said, we are both. Our music is primarily Texas root music. Whether in English or Spanish, County Music or Tex-Mex Music, we are proud to be Texans and state ambassadors of Texas Music throughout the world. Los Texas Wranglers creating memories since October 1999

While her schoolmates were embracing the rituals of small-town Texas; Robyn was teaching herself guitar and sneaking off to Austin, immersing herself in the city's wealth of live music. Eventually she'd settle there, where rent was paid working the door at the world famous Continental Club. Robyn shared many a lean meal with her brothers in those South Austin days. From their Goodwill couch, she plotted a stable future for her and the family she hoped to one day have. She shelved dreams of a career in music and enrolled in The University of Texas School of Engineering and eventually took work in that field. Just after she and husband John "Lunchmeat" Ludwick had their first child, and felt their road had been paved, Robyn was laid off. The intensity of such life changes woke Robyn's sleeping songwriter. "It just pretty much poured out at that point. I guess it was time, you know." Robyn cashed in her pension, and dove headlong into her craft.
Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Jerome Luke is a singer and songwriter who has his own, unique take on Americana music. Jerome is a very eclectic performer whose work is really hard to categorize and classify within one single genre, incorporating the most disparate influences, ranging from rock, to country, folk and pop. Acoustic rhythm guitars are topped by a powerful bass groove and great solo electric guitars, in the best tradition of bluegrass and electric country. All the music is held together by Jerome’s trademark deep and expressive vocals. The singer is blessed with a very recognizable and one-of-a-kind voice, warm and bright all the time. This versatile performer is in fact able to reach the powerful low growls of a Johnny Cash at his best, as well as rising his singing higher, to create a wonderful emotional climax in every tune. His entertaining and tireless sound makes him an intriguing artist.
Jerome Luke began writing, singing and playing bass at the age of 15. He formed two indie rock bands with his brother, Time Well Spent and Man the Moon. Several albums were released. He more recently found a passion for writing and composing songs best described as 'Americana', however his rock roots shine through. His soulful, deep voice and guitar playing are a real treat and fresh sound. Catch him live if you can and bookmark this artist as more tunes will be posted in anticipation of the release of his upcoming debut solo album.
