Kern Ramble is a mostly-just-in-studio artist, recording five albums dating back to 1991. Sometimes musicians are like Bono, larger than life and poised to change the political paths of the United Nations. Then at other times musicians are more like Kern Ramble, who merely enjoys creating his music.
Robert "Recycled Sounds" Davis has been making a strong name for himself in 2012, with mind blowing productions featuring artist such as members of Raider Klan (RVIDXR KLVN), Sortahuman, and Cauzndefx as well as many other underground/up-and-coming artists. His album R.U.O.K. was released on 12/12/12, and if you have never heard his music, "Carried Away In 1979" is the perfect introduction to the depth and feeling behind his music. He calls it "A collective of thoughts, vividly place together, giving birth to a detailed storyline using movements and still images. 'Don't Be Scared, Have Faith' is more than just five words. It is a positive message of hope and love, with the intent to heal. And pay attention to lyrics! Many mainstream artists make music with the intent to destroy, not build. Elevate your mind, body, & SOUL! Don't let these demons win you over. Stay Blessed, You Are." His words are felt in your heart and the message may touch your soul but the video is not for the weak minded, as it may come across as evil. But his lyrics let you know it has nothing to do with "being" or "rapping" evil, but rather to show people that other artists are putting things that they shouldn't into their music.
Alonzo "Mr. Undercover Freak" Reid earns his moniker by writing and performing a mature brand of R&B born of the tradition pioneered by the late Marvin Sease, for whom Alonzo played drums and percussion for 14 years. Alonzo began playing drums at age 6, and grew up to play behind gospel legends Shirley Caesar, Dorothy Norwood, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Soul Stirrers, and Aretha Franklin. Adding to an already impressive career, Alonzo also played with Bobby Womack and Mel Waiters.
In 2011, Alonzo released his debut (and namesake) album Undercover Freak. Supporting the album, his live shows quickly became labeled "for grown folks only" and "rated X" due to his songs' racy nature. Alonzo is now supporting two new singles and plans to continue perform in and around his home state of Alabama.
Starkly contrasted against a musical landscape almost as barren as the deserts in west Texas, Austin's own Righteous Brisket has made a stand. A stand against the boring, generic disposable pop proliferating our musical airwaves. A stand against an obsolete music industry too bloated to keep up with the fast changing, inter-connected world where bands can distribute their music around the globe with just a click of a mouse. With one boot firmly planted in the rock world and the other in the outlaw world of Texas country, Righteous Brisket is waving the independent banner proudly and high.
Rival Waves is a rock band from Austin, Texas, creating a propulsive, melodic sonic soundscape fused with a relentlessly disruptive post-punk aesthetic. The band draws its musical influences from the guitar-fueled sounds of classic rock, punk and hardcore, alternative, and the myriad sounds emanating from their hometown. While riffs, hooks, and choruses serve as their musical cornerstones; Rival Waves places an equal emphasis on a staunch DIY ethic, musical experimentalism, and a lyrical commitment to both personal and socio-political topics.
Originally conceived as a concept singer/songwriter Joel De La Garza developed while in graduate school, the idea was to create a musical project that would leverage the evolving digital media landscape and its ongoing disruption of the traditional music industry. The goal behind the idea is to develop a more engaging and immersive experience between the audience and the artist.
In late 2015, De La Garza recruited guitarists Marc Schulz and Erik Salinas, and drummer Frank Ramirez to form the official incarnation of Rival Waves. In their short time together, the band’s intense and passionate live shows have already generated buzz amongst a growing local fan base. They performed two showcases during SXSW 2016 and have continued to build out their live experience at some of the premiere venues in Austin. "Amputee,” the band’s debut single, was released in late September 2016 and has amassed nearly 40,000 streams on Spotify in that short time.
Rival Waves has built upon its musical foundations to develop a style of music that is uniquely personal to them while having the ability to reach critical mass in a meaningful way. As the band continues to gain momentum, Rival Waves looks to find new ways to leverage technology to further disrupt the fragmented musical landscape and create a more relevant and direct relationship with its growing audience.
Rock of Ages is a rock/jukebox musical, with a book by Chris D'Arienzo, built around classic rock songs from the 1980s, especially from the famous glam metal bands of that decade. The musical features songs from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Steve Perry, Poison and Europe among other well-known rock bands.
Brandon and Hubbard (“Rog & Glenn”), both originally from Boone, North Carolina, had written and recorded dozens of songs together over the years but had long-since accepted their lives as regular guys with day jobs when they planned a songwriting weekend in March of 2012 for old-times’ sake. They hatched the idea to take a radically different approach, possibly even exploring a different genre than the quirky combination of progressive and pop rock that had previously been their staple.

Devyn Rose was discovered by multi-platinum producer Dame Grease during a BMI Open Mic. And in 2009, while searching YouTube videos, Ron Hunter, a former Lifestyle and Marketing Rep for KOCH Records, clicked on one of her videos. Impressed with what he saw, Hunter contacted her. Months after the two met, the single "Get it Off" was released and quickly followed up with the remix featuring Young Money's "Jae Millz." Having been fortunate enough to work behind the scenes with Hip-Hop artists such as 3 6 Mafia, N.O.R.E., KURUPT, Mims, Jae Millz, French Montana, Max B, Mike Shore, and Royce Da 59, Devyn has been able to develop an eccentric new generation mix of pop, r&b, and hip hop genres.
IN THE BEGINNING...
Tommy first came to the attention of Pacific Records Ltd, after writing Lynne Taylor Donovan's cross-over hit single "Sugar Lake", that quickly and powerfully shot to the top of the charts. Soon thereafter Tommy was signed by Pacific Records to a record deal. His first 2 singles have been received with critical acclaim, and to rave reviews.
Tommy is first and foremost a songwriter. He loves to tell stories through his music about everyday people and events. When asked during a recent interview (Shaw TV's "The Seen") how he does this he replied: "I just write about the lives of regular people, like me, you know? For better or worse, that's what I know, that's what I live, so that's what I write."
"She Keeps Me (Rockin')"
SINGER / MUSICIAN
Tommy had been surrounded by music his whole life by family members going back some generations. He picked up his first guitar at seventeen and hasn't stopped playing since. Singing and song writing followed soon thereafter. His passion to create music shines as he states: "Composing and performing music for a living may not be the easiest or most stable job, but in my opinion, it’s the greatest job on earth! I wouldn't have it any other way".
Tommy has several artists that have been great influences and inspirations to him, way too many to include them all here. However some of his top favourites are Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, and Tupac Shakur. He goes on to say however: "In recent reviews I have been compared to some of these GREATS! I am deeply honoured and humbled by this, but the greatest lesson of all that I have learned from these amazing musicians, is that it is always better to be an original than a copy."
One of Music City’s best kept secrets and fastest rising talents is without a doubt Ben Rue. This Silverton, OR native developed a passionate fan base in the Beaver State and continues to win over audiences around the continental US. Praised for his ability to capture real situations in his music, Ben emanates a storytelling signature that once defined country music. At the core, his tunes are as organic as his roots reared by a grass seed farming family where he worked the fields with his two older brothers. His uninhibited desire and drive have acquired him a list of opportunities on the road with Jo Dee Messina, Craig Morgan, Lonestar, The Mavericks and Dustin Lynch.
Though formally trained in opera and classical music, Christa Russell has always known that the blues and raw, organic country was in her blood. While living in Key West, Florida, she began writing songs and expressing her passion, entertaining tourists and locals alike. Now back home in Texas, she draws on the influences of Patsy Cline, Eva Cassidy and Linda Ronstadt to capture the hearts and minds of her audience. A self proclaimed “goof” and “generally a hot mess”, spending time with Christa on stage is like spending time with Christa at a table… telling jokes, having a laugh, and sipping whiskey. With her energetic personality, come the lyrics, song writing and vocal passion of woman who has known loss, failures, insecurities and loneliness, but lives to sing about redemption, accomplishment and ultimately finding a path to call your own.
