Chris Erasmus

Genre: Country/Americana, Pop
Hometown: London, England

Music has always been central to Chris Erasmus’ life. Growing up in Zimbabwe, he first connected with music through classic films he watched with his family, inspired by icons like Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and Debbie Reynolds.

At 18, Chris left Africa to pursue music, developing into a powerful performer with a strong foundation in classical music and musical theatre. Though he’s lived in Cape Town, New York, and Australia, his heart remains in the countryside—shaped by a childhood of guitars, campfires, and wild animals between Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Now based in London, Chris finds inspiration in everyday moments, always ready to capture an idea on the move. His music reflects life’s beauty and brutality—love, heartbreak, growth, and self-discovery.

Influenced by artists like Foy Vance and Chris Stapleton, he’s also collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Scott Jacoby (Natasha Bedingfield, Janelle Monáe).

His Americana-Country sound is deeply rooted in storytelling and emotion. With his blend of stream-of-consciousness writing and heartfelt honesty, Chris creates music for road trips, reflection, and connection—inviting listeners to find pieces of their own stories within his songs.
