Alex Carbonel was raised in Fremont, California just a few minutes away from the heart of the Bay Area. She is of both Filipino and Irish decent and her music often reflects the laid back style of her family's Hawaiian roots. Growing up she was influenced by the music her parents listened to like R&B, Soul, and Country, as well as the Pop, Hip-Hop, and even the Hyphy music of her times. Along with her passion for music, she is also a Division One basketball player and currently a member of the Saint Mary's College Women's Basketball team. At Saint Mary's College, Alex majored in sports management with a minor in business. Her music is constantly influenced by her favorite artists such as John Mayer, Kaskade, Colbie Caillat, Rascal Flatts, and even rappers such as Drake, Eminem, and J. Cole.
