DRAGG

Genre: Rap/Hip-Hop
Hometown: Johannesburg, South Africa

Born in Johannesburg, Lawrence Sean Sibanda, known as DRAGG, discovered his musical roots in the diverse sounds of his mother’s collection. At just 12, he faced a life-altering battle with meningitis that resulted in the loss of his eyesight.

Johannesburg’s rich music scene shaped DRAGG’s taste, leading him to embrace South African hip-hop, R&B, and Kwaito. Influenced by Skwatacamp, TK, Mandoza, and Zola 7, his musical journey began to take shape.

In 2006, DRAGG moved to the UK, immersing himself in the culture during the height of the 50 Cent and G-Unit era. West Coast rapper The Game became a pivotal influence, with the album Doctor’s Advocate serving as a defining moment that propelled him deeper into hip-hop. Opening for The Game in 2010 marked a full-circle moment with his rap idol.

Since then, DRAGG has shared stages with UK icons like Wretch 32, Tim Westwood, and DJ Ace, and collaborated with artists such as Lady Leshurr, O.D Hunte, Paigey Cakey, and Millyz.

In 2025, DRAGG reintroduced his fan-favorite single "Foreign" with a powerful remaster and a dynamic new music video. Produced by platinum-selling beatmaker gTbeats and co-directed by Thokozani “Tuks” Lungu—the acclaimed stunt performer featured in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and The Woman King—the video premiered exclusively on LinkUpTV UK on August 1, 2025.
