Kid Aníme is a nerd! That's no playground taunt--he embraces his vibe and infuses his music with intelligence and awareness. The rapper/lyricist from The Bronx has been writing since he was 10, blending the sounds of 90s Soul, Hip-Hop and R&B with his love of storytelling. But don't get it wrong: these aren't songs about Dungeons & Dragons and the Sunday Sudoku. Kid Aníme sings songs of real life with an underlying motive: "I want to bring fun and creativity back to Hip-Hop," Kid explains. "My goal is to combine nerd culture and my experience growing up in NYC and put it all into my music." His sound channels the jazz and positivity of A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul's inventiveness, and Digable Planets' intellect, without sacrificing his laid-back nature.
