London-based alt rockers Pseudopomp release their third single “Love Me Away” on 14th February, catapulting them toward something much fiercer than the controlled indie pop of their debut.

A frenetic, grunge-flavoured horror story about a lover who steals your “self” and wears it better, “Love Me Away” features duelling male/female vocals and unhinged but infectiously catchy riffing, both of which are quickly becoming a Pseudopomp signature.

Starting out as a duo, sharing all instruments between them, Pseudopomp launched in July to a great deal of Spotify buzz and spent the next months cutting their teeth on London staples like Signature Brew & Dash the Henge (including support slots for The Great Leslie & OG punks Eater). A drummer and bassist soon joined the ranks, stepping up the intensity.

Sophomore single “Only Just” (Pseudopomp’s spooky twist on the love song institution) brought them features on Plastic Mag, Fame Magazine and Earmilk, plus keen support from indie bloggers with an ear for emerging acts, such as Art by Artists and the flatteringly named Songs That Don’t Suck podcast.

Set closer and live favourite “Love Me Away” is feverish, living energy bottled up in a studio recording, and sees the band at their most playful and decoupled from pop constraints. Their dark humour (subtly permeating through earlier songs) becomes a main feature and the instrumentation, culminating in an epiphany-inducing crescendo, brazenly demands your full attention.
