Silent Obsession is a technical and brutal death metal band from Algiers, Algeria, formed in 2017 by guitarist and composer Max Marginal. Influenced by iconic bands like Death, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, and Decapitated, Silent Obsession quickly made a name for themselves in the Algerian extreme metal scene thanks to their intense sound and dystopian themes.

Their debut EP, Lost (2020), features four tracks that dive into post-apocalyptic and dystopian worlds, reflecting on the darker aspects of modern human existence. The follow-up EP, Countdown (2021), consists of three songs — "Intro," "End of An Era," and "Exhausted Resource" — and was inspired by the apocalyptic tone of films like Mad Max. It further cemented their identity as a band tackling dark, existential, and futuristic concepts.
