The Dead Left

Genre: Pop, Rock
Hometown: Austin, TX

The Dead Left are song strong and rough-hewn singer/song-rocker with a healthy dose of post-punk-sonic-stuff. Principal writer, Neal Kassanoff, is a song craft chameleon, and is joined by a band with similarly versatile musicianship. Lauren Gurgiolo (Okkervil River) brings a palette of conventional and unconventional sounds and chops rarely matched by others (even in a talent soaked town like Austin). Gray Parsons and Linsday Greene bring the rhythm with an indelible sense of the spirit of each song.

Kassanoff has written for and co-written with a number of Texas standouts, including Ben Kweller, Carolyn Wonderland, and the Asylum Street Spankers.

Self taught, Lindsay Greene builds his own synth modules, which can be heard on Dead Left recording and stage shows. Drummer Gray Parsons is the visual artist for the bands album artwork and many of the band's posters.

The Dead Left has just released its new EP, A Robot Does it Better. It was recorded at East Austin Recorders, with engineering and co-production by Moonlight Towers frontman James Stevens.
