The Expo

Genre: Pop, Rock
Hometown: Seoul, South Korea

The Expo is a Seoul-based rock band currently comprised of songwriter, producer, and guitarist Lee Yuha alongside vocalist Kim Seonghun. Though still in its formative stages, the group's ambitions extend far beyond its current two-piece lineup, with plans to evolve into a full five-member band. Built around immersive songwriting and a deep appreciation for the album as an artistic format, The Expo combines melodic rock, atmospheric textures, and subtle echoes of 1980s New Wave into a sound that feels both familiar and distinctly their own.

The band's debut single, "Eclipse," introduced listeners to The Expo's cinematic approach to music-making. Rather than drawing from any single influence, the song emerged organically from a moment of inspiration, gradually taking shape through careful refinement and experimentation. The result is a richly layered track that balances soaring melodies with emotional depth, offering an early glimpse into the larger artistic vision the band hopes to realize through future releases.

While The Expo is still building its audience, the group's long-term focus remains firmly fixed on creating full-length albums rather than simply chasing individual singles. Equally passionate about the possibilities of both the recording studio and the live stage, they view each as a unique form of expression with its own creative rewards. As they continue releasing new music, expanding their lineup, and preparing for future performances, The Expo is laying the foundation for what they hope will become a lasting presence within South Korea's independent music landscape and beyond.
