1:00-3:00PM - Southwest Regional Folk Alliance Radio Panel Choices in marketing and promotions have grown exponentially, and this intriguing panel — “Radio Programming and Social Media: Can’t We All Work Together?” — will explore how live radio programs, Internet radio and social media networks can be autonomous yet interconnected to create a wide avenue of opportunities to connect with audiences. Whether you’re a promoter of your own music and gigs, a manager or agent promoting artists on your roster, or a venue presenting music, you’ll benefit from hearing panelists discuss the challenges and the opportunities. The event is free for those with a VBB wristband.

Panelists include: Tom Michael, Station Manager, Marfa Public Radio; JP Schwartz, Volunteer DJ, Marfa Public Radio; Todd Jagger, Radio Host, Photographer and Musician; Roger Agnew, Owner, Austin Music Radio; Rick Perkins, Global Promotions & Entertainment Director, Austin Music Radio. 4:00-6:00PM - Titan Music Group / Semaphore Music Wine Tasting and Industry Mixer Viva Big Bend artist and music industry folks are invited to attend a complimentary wine tasting and industry networking event at the USO Hall in Marfa. Hosted by Nikki Rowling, president of Titan Music Group, and Chris Castle, president of Semaphore Music, the event will feature a variety of wines from Spicewood Vineyards. The wine tasting will be conducted by Paula Rester, certified sommelier and general manager of Austin’s Vino Vino. This will be a great opportunity for industry participiants to relax, talk, connect with old friends and meet some new ones. Attendance and the wine tasting are free, but an RSVP is required.
