Apogee is the fourth album release by Danish alternative rock band Vinyl Floor. After a couple of albums exploring a symphonic soundscape with strings, Apogee finds the band getting back to the roots exploring the core instruments: bass, drums and guitars.

Since 2015 the band has been working on many demos. This batch of songs, which became the album Apogee, consists primarily of material with a harder and more edgy feel to it. On Apogee, Vinyl Floor finds themselves exploring different facets of rock, including hard rock, blues/rock, pop/rock and industrial.

The album is the first to be entirely produced and mixed by the band itself and was mastered in the USA by Audio Bay Mastering. Sonically, the band sought to channel the songs through a lo-fi and garage-sounding production.

The three members of the band contributed to the songwriting and play all instruments. Apogee was recorded at the bands’ own studio and the basic tracks were all done live. Lyrically, the album centers on a trembling world, which, day by day, seems to become more and more chaotic.
