Artists Against Foreclosure Rises Out of Philadelphia and Spreads Nationwide

Artists Against Foreclosure formed in reaction to a single artist's plight but is now growing to serve the needs of thousands across the country.

Artists Against Foreclosure is a vital effort which evolved out of the case of Rhonda Lancaster, a Philadelphia-based keyboardist who has played with Earth Wind & Fire and has lived in her house for 35 years. She has been foreclosed upon and is subject to being thrown into the street at any time.

Rhonda and several other Philly musicians have started Artists Against Foreclosure. Their goal is to get one million artists to sign a petition with the specific goal of inspiring one million Americans to stay in their homes after foreclosure in 2012. If we can do this, it will be a tremendous step forward in building a movement that can ensure that everyone has a place to live.
