J Almighty is Rooted in Las Vegas Hip-Hop and Prepares for the Release of His Third Album, Evolve

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, or so the commercials profess. But for rapper J Almighty, his goals reach beyond The Strip and onto the worldwide Hip-Hop scene.

J Almighty's presence in Las Vegas has been building for years. Influenced by legends Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J, and Ice Cube, J Almighty has carved out a place all his own in a city where it's impossibly difficult to get noticed.

Born Alexander Joseph Jones, J Almighty relocated from his hometown of Newport News, Virginia and began making some noise around the Las Vegas Hip-Hop scene. He has two albums to his credit—Masterpiece and his latest, Kings Dominion—and on the strength of those was voted Best Hip-Hop Show by City Life Magazine. On the performance front, J Almighty has been a part of Hip-Hop Roots' showcases at LVCS and Wednesday Night Hype at The Bunkhouse Saloon.

Today, J Almighty is hard at work on his next steps. First, he's working on a group project with Slim Sav and D Blades. The three have collaborated previously, including the single and video for "Look At Me Now."

On the solo tip, J Almighty is recording what will be his third album with the working title Evolve, set for release later in 2013. As he forges ahead on both projects, J Almighty reflects on his motivation: a love of music.

I do it cause i love it, I love the creative process. You got to love the music first, if you do it for the money you are in the wrong business."

And in Las Vegas, where the trend is to bet it all and pray for Lady Luck, J Almighty keeps himself grounded. Preparing to release Evolve, J Almighty moves with the same confidence and killer rhymes that brought him here and got him this far.

Keep an eye out for Evolve's release later this year. It will be available on all major online sources.
