Alabama's Female Artist of the Year Skylar Wallace crosses paths with longtime Nashville singer/songwriter and award-winner Robert Abernathy.

Robert Abernathy had played solo for years, during which time Skylar Wallace started her own music career. Then one night in 2024 they shared a gig that just felt "right." A duo was born: Rob-Sky and the Anthem embarked on a year-long residency across Nashville's famed Broadway music scene. Now in 2026 they're riding the wave of their debut full-length album "Boots on Fire."

"The process of piecing this project together was a culmination of several years of songwriting and narrowing down specific songs that suited Skylar’s voice and mine," Abernathy explains. They set out to write and record an album that showcased their strengths and covered the full gamut, lyrically. "We wanted a diverse album. There are songs about break-ups, hurting. There are songs about healing and bringing people together."

And that's exactly what they've done. While both stay busy on their solo paths, touring, with family, Boots on Fire is poised to become a soundtrack of bars and honky tonks across the South during this Summer of 2026. True to their name, the record is chock full o' Country anthems--easy to sing along with, catchy, ripe with honest emotion and vulnerability.

Abernathy continues, "I wanted songs about our own home state of Alabama and real experiences that extend  beyond [the state line]. And songs about love." Pretty much all the requisite ingredients of a solid Country album that you keep comin' back to, time after time. It's all about making memories set to song, then getting to relive each moment every time you hit play from that point forward.
