The Antenna Tribe and Silke Collaborate on Second Album Together, "Pieces," Slated for January 2026 Release

Band founder, instrumentalist, producer Sean Whalen opens up about the nature of "Pieces" and how music fits into his life.

Sean Whalen, the energy and creative force behind New York's The Antenna Tribe, spends his days working as a radiologist. But by night his affinity for technology and a need for a creativity outlet takes him to the comfort of his Digital Audio Workstation. His musical pursuit intensified and flourished after the pandemic--a period during which many of us began to evaluate our lives, hobbies and a general pursuit of fulfillment.

After a string of singles, his project The Antenna Tribe pulled in session vocalist Silke to put the finishing touches on 2023's The Antenna Tribe | Silke album. The project garnered tens of thousands of Spotify streams with relatively little promotional effort. Primarily organic listens and shares brought enough attention to the songs that it became evident that listeners wanted more.

Two years later, the follow-up album Pieces is in the can. Two singles have dropped with two more to come before the complete album is released on January 9, 2026.

Pieces
Pieces release: Jan 9, 2026

Pieces exists as a 15 track concept album with 5 instrumentals and 10 tracks featuring the aforementioned Silke's vocalizations. Whalen is proud of this record, playing his self-described role of "sound architect" creating a cohesive universe in which to tell his story. "The style of my music is born in thematic sounds," Whalen explained in a recent visit.

And while his songwriting and producing has provided some level of fulfillment, he continued explaining that "My inspiration lies in scoring. If I could do anything, I'd wanna be in the realm where Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross create--TV shows, themes."

With Pieces, Whalen has taken a step in that direction. He created the album with the intent of it being a true album in the historic sense--created as a single collective work, intended to be consumed in one sitting. While releasing singles is a necessary step of the current musical landscape, Whalen is eager for listeners to be able to hit Play and soak in the work in its entirety.

Give The Antenna Tribe a follow on Spotify to be the first to know when the next 2 singles drop, and Pieces becomes available for your listening pleasure.
