Blood Running is the new album by Minneapolis artist ELOUR (pronounced allure). Part punk, part pop, part rock, Blood Running hits hard. The energy of lead vocalist Elizabeth Ghandour explodes from the speakers, conjuring up visions of Donnas and L7s of yore. Intense, both in her softer demure moments of "Good Girl" and belting it out in more raucous tracks like "Break Me."

A video for the album's lead single "Fade" was dropped in February of this year in anticipation of the album release on April 21. The color, style, and splash of the video harken to the alternative rock video vibes of the 90s, with its psychedelia. Think B-52s meets Blind Melon. Brilliant in all meanings of the word.

Bassist Joe Scarpellino, drummer Will Flynn and multi-instrumentalist Jason Shannon round out ELOUR's line-up, creating some compelling soundscapes. "Up All Night" closes with an absolutely blistering guitar solo. The keys, while not prominently featured, add an ethereal backdrop across moments of several songs.

ELOUR has a strong album on their hands. It spans several sub-genres, lending its appeal to a potentially broad audience. Rock, Alt, Punk, Pop. Blood Running is an album you can share with friends and it's going to be a safe bet that it'll turn some head. Keep up with ELOUR at elourmusic.com.
