Emperor (Single)

by Ark Spear

Track listing: Emperor

Onslaught. That's the single word that keeps coming to mind as Ark Spear's newest single "Emperor" fills the room. It's is an absolute fucking sonic onslaught, set for official release on June 30, 2024. Think Drowning Pool's "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" having an dark-souled spawn with Al Jourgensen's Ministry, with Rob Zombie being the menacing babe's freakish godfather. It's heavy, diabolical, and just the right song to bridge the gap between the Northumberland band's debut Introduction to Destruction and their forthcoming album slated for a release in late 2024.

A voyeur to the pain, detached and cold, the suffering unfolds, a story untold

"Emperor" was originally recorded with the intent of being a part of the Intro... record but just missed making the final cut. It's being released this month as a bit of a teaser for what's yet to come. In the meantime, Ark Spear has dropped "Emperor" on YouTube along with an impressive array of merch at the Ark Spear online store

"Emperor" is highlighted by its thick, full-bodied guitar riffs. And whether it's the bass guitar or a combo with the guitar tone, when you crank up "Emperor" you can feel the song shake you down to your bones. As a drummer, I personally appreciate the tone and intense pounding of the drums--just enough intricacy to kick ass but primarily tasteful, musical licks and pounding four-on-the-floor bass drum at the right moments to hammer home the track's intensity. The vocals shred and, surprisingly, you can actually understand most of the lyrics--not something too common for the genre.

Listen to "Emperor" today and check out Ark Spear's merch. Their gas mask imagery is well-conceived and their merch prices are actually quite reasonable. You can find all things Ark Spear at linktr.ee/arkspear.
