German punks Coma Beach are at it again! Their new EP Passion/Bliss dropped this month and is fueled with the same energy that powered their previous releases I Won't Listen and A Madman's Dream/Mind Descending. Gritty, growling, contemplative songs with an inherent pleading to the universe for answers.

Passion/Bliss is the third episode of their "Scapegoat Revisited" EP triptych, which marks the band's 30th anniversary of the release of their debut The Scapegoat's Agony (1995). The EP kicks off with "Passion," which channels a Lemmy-esque vocal over a lamenting musical plea, searching for the spark that started it all but has since been lost.

"Bliss" follows, coming at you with a Nirvana-like flanged guitar introducing a pre-Emo dark, pounding chorus. Lyrically, our antagonist finds himself drowned in visions of a self-destructive world that cannot escape its own destructive cycle. Doom and gloom on repeat.

The EP maintains the running theme of the antihero's foreboding existential crisis--a lack of hope, direction, love, and inspiration. With this record, Coma Beach's Captain A. Fear & U. Terror have completed the trek that started 3 decades ago. And whereas our antihero searches on, perhaps never finding the answer, Coma Beach has completed their ages-long musical journey in 2025.
