Track listing: Rain
Holy hell whatta voice! Having written hundreds of reviews, it's not often that I hear a song that causes me to do a doubletake. Well, that's the case with Amber Elara's latest single "Rain." The song is solid. It's a mid-tempo, driving Pop song, that's well-produced and features an aggressive guitar solo. But it's Amber's vocal performance that stands head and shoulders above all else.
To date, the Big Condo Records artist has released just two singles. Being so new to the scene, Elara's social following is still small but growing steadily. But while her followers number in the single-digit thousands, the video for her debut single "Heart" already has over 10,000 views on YouTube.
We're here for "Rain," though, right? The track builds with a gorgeous piano/guitar intro and settles into a fairly mellow verse. Then BAM: Elara's high-powered voice belts through the first chorus. The rhythm section then double-times the tempo in the second verse through the song's end. But it's really the post-guitar-solo choruses and vocal ad libs into the outro that show off what must have turned Big Condo's eyes and ears toward Amber in the first place.
If you keep your own 'artists to watch' list, adding Amber Elara to it now would be a good idea. Find her on socials and streaming services @amberelara. I, for one, cannot wait to hear more from her and watch how her career builds on such an impressive launch.
