Rocky Steps (Single)

by Braxill

Track listing: Rocky Steps

Live my life with no regrets
I'm running up them
Rocky steps
Look at all the time I spent
Runnin' around in my mind

Live my life with no regrets
I'm running up them
Rocky steps
Wouldn't hurt to try
To be more alive

This hook won't get out of my head and I'm not mad about it one little bit.

Hailing from NYC, Braxill has written an absolute pop-punk / emo / indie / pop earworm that simultaneous conveys inspiration, motivation, and self-empowerment. At the same time, something about the melody and chord progression comes across a little plaintive with a helpless emo-y yearning to it.

Similar to Rocky himself, perhaps--training his ass off, working hard, self-motivating and hopeful. But at the same time battling real life and challenges not really knowing whether or not he's got a chance in hell against Apollo Creed. Just gotta keep pushing as hard as you can, put in the work, and do your best. The final result will sort itself out.

The song's already garnered 18K listens on SoundCloud, where most of Braxill's songs have at least 5K listens, with a few up in the 20-30K range.

The hashtags on "Rocky Steps" includes #machinegunkelly and that tracks--definitely some vibes and energy of MGK. But Braxill's hit on a real strong anthem with this one. It's almost got to wind up in rotation on-air or find its way into some major streaming playlists. I know I'm about to stand on my own social media soapbox and share this track with everyone I can.
