Track listing: Sentimental Magic Cape

Back in September 2025 we had the chance to review Four Singles from Levontin by Tel Aviv Indie artist Eyal Erlich. The live tracks come across powerful and impressive, to say the least. Then in late October, the group dropped another single from the same performance: "Sentimental Magic Cape." It's a credit to bands who are still playing 100% live, no backing tracks, no overdubs. This is pure live rock n roll, ladies and gentlemen.

It kicks off with a pulsing bass guitar and drums, rolling into an intro guitar solo that sets the mood. You know the band's there to play and it's all business. Tight, yet raw. Precise yet visceral.

When Eyal's vocals kick in the song changes gears to its retro Indie sound, channeling an array of sounds from mysterious Radiohead-y chords, B-52s quirkiness, and aspects of the energy put forth by Elvis Costello and the Attractions. It's a myriad of sounds and vibes that keep listeners on their toes while delighting the music heads in the crowd. 

Erlich's band blends just the right amounts of tight musicianship with a present-in-the-moment rock 'n' roll looseness that at least I personally appreciate in a live show. Eyal and the band are continuing to release the songs from the Levontin sets and are on the precipice of taking the show on the road.
