Strive Season is the 8th album in the past 6 years from Gainesville, Georgia rapper Rok Major aka The Local Joker. Of note, Gainesville holds the title of "The Poultry Capital of the World" and takes it seriously! When you're there, both Yelp and Rok Major recommend you visit Longstreet Cafe. But we're talking Hip-Hop now, and Strive Season has its own message to convey.

To date, Rok Major has earned tens of thousands of Spotify streams, with Strive Season poised to elevate those numbers even higher. The record kicks off with "True Story," an approachable informal intro track that sets the tone of Major's family priorities and the space that Faith occupies in his daily life. "Daily" continues his down-to-earth approach to songwriting, bringing his friends, his church, and his family into his music; while "Silver and Gold" talks dollars and cents--where and how finance fits in to it all.

Strive Season touches on struggle and social issues present not only in and around Gainesville, but more universally present in all our lives. Rok Major's delivery varies from sing-song elements in the intro of "Not Alone" to more uptempo rhymes of "The Cry Out." The album's production is good enough but also organic and real; not over-polished trying to be more than it is.

As the record comes to an end, Strive Season concludes with "The Black Sheep." The song presents our choices and how changes can come to all of us any time, unexpectedly. Summed up, Strive Season is a true-to-life collection of songs from an artist who's as real as it gets. Rok Major doesn't front with anything fake--from his lyrics to his social profiles, what you hear and see is what you get.
