Track listing: Ghosts, Fools, Kicked and Burned, Working Man's Prayer (This Side of the Dirt) 5 Bones, Still the Boys

Joshua Lassi just released his debut solo EP entitled The Only Thing That Hasn't Changed. The 6-song collection of tastefully written tracks brings together his Country/Americana musical background with his longstanding career performing Gospel and Gospel-infused Alt Country and Southern Rock. At the forefront of the EP is Lassi's tried-and-true voice, with moments akin to Randy Travis' baritone, interspersed with some good ol' Stapleton-esque dust and grit.

The EP opens with "Ghosts," a gorgeous vocal harmony-laden plaintive tale of starting anew, pushing through, and hope that we can all escape the lure of ghosts from our past. "Fools" offers us a slow waltz filled with heartache, heartbreak, and the notion that sometimes we do some foolish things for love (and maybe what we sometimes mistakenly interpret as Love). In an honest, blue-collar story we follow "Working Man's Prayer," which is really just a song of thanks for all the things we do have, even when our lives might include trials and loss that sure don't seem like things we should be thankful for. As long as we wake up "on this side of the dirt" things'll be okay, right? It's at least a good way to start each day. "Bones" picks up the pace with it's solid 2-steppin' tempo and the EP closes out with "Still the Boys," a nostalgic pull at the ol heartstrings.

Joshua's got a voice that conveys within it a certain wisdom and confidence. A trust. An insight into the human experience. Maybe it's due to his background in Gospel--writing songs with greater purpose than day-to-day issues like love, work, living with our choices. Whatever it may be, you can believe in The Only Thing That Hasn't Changed. Joshua Lassi has been there and done that as far as playing big shows for years with The Firewater Gospel Choir. Now he's channeling years of experience, trials, tribulations, and a spiritual familiarity that puts the nuances of the daily grind into a healthy and proper perspective.

Check out Joshua's video for "Fools" and visit his artist page to follow him across his social and streaming platforms. He'll have more music to come and, based on his debut, it's music that you'll want to be aware of as it's released.
