Sometimes you can have every single thing go wrong but it just somehow all comes together perfectly in the end. That would be a terrible alternate title for Jessie Burner's new album Tiger Uppercut, but it wouldn't be altogether inaccurate. Nearly lost data, travel complications involving a featured artist, and countless sleepless nights were all part of the production process. Despite all of the unforeseen obstacles what we're fortunate enough to have on our hands is a hot fucking album!

Between a computer failure and the featuring artist almost not making it to the studio, this album was on the brink of being destroyed. But thankfully, with enough perseverance, we saw it through to the end.

An unlisted preview gives us a 2:06 sneak peak into what Tiger Uppercut is going to deliver. Words immediately flood my mind as it's shaking my studio walls: epic, monumental, huge, anticipation, pounding dance tracks, hints of Dubstep. It's a whole vibe unto itself! And JUST dropped: a Video Short for "A New Found Love," featuring none other than BarbieXMusk, the very same artist whose appearance on the album almost didn't happen at all.

One of the hallmarks of Tiger Uppercut has been its fortitude and resilience even prior to release. Burner captures the feelings perfectly: "The heart of Tiger Uppercut—the intricate sound design, layered basslines, and carefully crafted drops—was hanging by a thread...but in a near-miraculous moment, the files were recovered! It was as if the album itself refused to be silenced."

Silence happens to be the polar opposite of what Tiger Uppercut has to offer. It's got club tracks that can seamlessly drop into a DJ set at 3AM on Miami Beach. It's Pop enough to lend intrigue to more commercial audiences but the brain-numbing bass in the more heavy-hitting tracks are massive enough to challenge even the most powerful sound systems.

Burner's background flows from drumming to production, which then grew into collaboration across EDM and Hip-Hop genre lines. But it's his original music that most recently demonstrates his passion and mastery of sound, rhythm, and movement. You can almost tell that Tiger Uppercut was produced by a drummer--not because of especially intricate rhythms but rather because of the record's display of anticipating the next moment. The builds are carefully planned and executed and the drops--they're fall-off-a-cliff massive.

Tiger Uppercut is slated for release on April 18, 2025.
