Track listing: Ultimatum

Daniel Higley has just released "Ultimatum," a single from his forthcoming album slated for release in May 2025. The haunting, mysterious sounding track features UK-based female vocalist, Gen. 

I'm writing and creating from a very personal spiritual place, to inspire you to live your dreams like I'm living mine.

Higley is a sort of international man, trekking from Brooklyn to Tokyo to Seattle, collaborating with friends and associates wherever he lands. While professionally he's spent years promoting artists including Bjork, The National, and The Doves, "Ultimatum" finds him diving headlong into his own original sound. 

You can hear a combination of experimental, new wave a number of variations of electronic music within "Ultimatum." Gen's voice at times is whispery and alluring but she steps into the chorus with a powerfully self-harmonized trancelike melody.

Musically, Higley keeps things fairly sparse. A fretless bass remains constant during the track along with a light march-like snare and various sound effects and synths added in for texture and good measure.
