Your Savior (Single)

by Alex Lease

"Your Savior" is the latest single by Dallas-based singer-songwriter Alex Lease slated for release on March 27. You'll be able to find it on all major music platforms at that time.

But for now, let's tell you about it. "Your Savior" was inspired during an actual church sermon. Yep, as the pastor was speaking, there's Alex sitting in his pew, scribbling away.

But wait! Before you say, "Christian Music isn't my thing," you need to take a listen. Alex Lease isn't your parent's Christian artist, at least stylistically. Think Dr. John crossed with Randy Newman. Alex's voice will turn your head with its gravel and grit, steeped with side-eyed attitude. And while his lyrics are very obviously about Jesus Christ, the music and mood he sets may as well be coming from a speakeasy in a back alley off Bourbon Street.

The musicianship is spot-on, as well. You've got the Hammond B3, a horn section, and an ivory tickler that need to frequent some juke joints if they aren't already. A solid supporting cast to the dirt that Alex is spitting.

Keep an eye out for the March 27 "Your Savior" release, followed a week later by his Easter Sunday (April 4) release of the accompanying music video on Alex's YouTube Channel. Until then, here's a teaser of some studio outtakes from the "Your Savior" recording session.
