"In The Chair With... Joey Stuckey | Episode #103"

In this episode of In the Chair With..., Wiley sits down with award-winning musician, producer, engineer, educator, and Macon, Georgia’s official Music Ambassador, Joey Stuckey.

Blind since childhood after surviving a brain tumor, Joey has built a remarkable 30+ year career around his extraordinary relationship with sound. He’s shared stages with artists including James Brown, the B-52s, Bad Company, Clarence Carter, and Trisha Yearwood, while working as a producer and engineer at his Shadow Sound Studio in Macon.

Joey talks about growing up surrounded by the musical history of Macon, discovering his passion for recording and production, and developing the “ears” that legendary producer Alan Parsons once called the best in the music business.

We also dig into Joey’s new King of Strings EP, recorded at the legendary Les Paul Recording Studio in Hollywood. Joey became the first artist to record a project in the studio, using equipment connected to Les Paul’s groundbreaking recording legacy. The six-song EP arrives October 23, 2026, with the first single, “Temple in the Wind,” already available.

Along the way, Joey shares stories about working with legendary musicians, his approach to producing artists, songwriting, surviving against the odds, and why he believes music ultimately comes down to one thing: human connection.
