Our conversation with Paul Kinley of the Liverpool-based rock group RISE is somewhat of a resurrection event. The band toured widely from the mid to late 80s, then went dormant for decades. Now with Kinley's son (aka Stay Mellow, a UK Hardcore/Jungle Producer) at lead vocals, RISE is back and stronger than ever. The sound is huge -- think of the legendary bands Yes and Asia -- songs led by a combo of synthesizer and guitar with a huge, arena-ready classic Rock sound.
