Sonya Jevette is a singer/songwriter/host/teacher and much more, hailing from Austin, Texas. She touches on her membership in the Recording Academy and what it takes to become a Grammy voter. She is also a champion of musical artist rights, and one of the ways she does this is through the American Federation of Musicians (which you should join, and can do even if you're not American).
