"Paul and Babe" is the first single off of Minneapolis-based Brian Charles Tischleder's latest release, Mississippi Call. A powerful Zydeco-channeling banger, "Paul and Babe" smokes with Chicago Blues horns and Hammond B3, with an energy reminiscent of Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation."

Tischleder is fresh off of multiple performances at the 2023 South By Southwest music festival in Austin, adding yet another stop to a career that has seen him perform across the Midwest for decades. Selling out Minneapolis' legendary First Avenue is among his impressive touring accolades.

Mississippi Call is Tischleder's 6th solo album, its 8 tracks following up 2021's This Town. Throughout the album you hear an uncanny New Orleans / Mississippi Delta Blues lean. "Minneapolis Shake" could serve as a spicy soundtrack inside a smoky juke joint at 4am. "Rolling On" hits more straightforward but still with the brass that gives Tischleder's songs that extra kick of genre-crossing influences: a little Van Morrison, a little E Street, and a dash of Leon Russell for good measure.
