Track listing: Stop Suicide Worldwide
Lance Mitchell says it best in the intro to his latest single, "Stop Suicide Worldwide."
"Suicides have spread over the world in epidemic proportions. We have to start by showing love to those who are going by the wayside. To show love and give love. That's what we need to do to stop these suicides worldwide."
Though just released a couple weeks ago, the song has over 30,000 streams on Spotify and its accompanying video has almost 4,000 views on YouTube. The quick attraction of listeners underscores the pervasiveness of suicide in today's world, affecting families and friend-circles worldwide for eons.
Based in Juneau, Alaska, Mitchell lives in the heart of it. Alasks ranks second among U.S. states in its suicide rate, 28.5 per 100,000 people, just behind Wyoming. The desolation, long winters, economic factors...even either the omnipresent or nearly absent hours of daily daylight. All are contributing factors.
With this track Mitchell pleads, "Let's come together as a community and spread awareness about this important issue. Share this song with your friends, family, and loved ones. Let's start conversations, offer support, and let those who are struggling know that they are not alone."
